SUL4R-PLUS® Opens New Plant in Marissa, Illinois
Second location adds 100,000 tons of patented SUL4R-PLUS calcium-sulfate fertilizer to market

On April 22, 2025, SUL4R-PLUS® officially opened its new plant in Marissa, Illinois. The new plant, located on the former Quad County Ready Mix concrete plant near the Prairie State power plant, will bring our innovative fertilizer products to growers in southern Illinois and the surrounding region.
“We are proud to be a part of this community and provide customers with a unique fertilizer product that delivers high-quality sulfur and calcium in a single granule,” says Terry Gill, SUL4R-PLUS president and CEO. “Farmers are all too familiar with the need to grow more on every acre, and SUL4R-PLUS has a proven record of supporting crop growth and yields.”
SUL4R-PLUS is a patented, dust-free, low-salt, calcium-sulfate fertilizer manufactured from by-products from coal-fired power plants. Our fertilizer is a slow-release, granular product that can be the primary source of secondary nutrients for farmers looking to maximize crop performance. Field trials have demonstrated that the combination of sulfur, calcium and fulvic acid is not only improving nutrient use efficiency and soil health, but also yields in crops such as soybeans, corn, small grains, alfalfa, forages, fruits or vegetables.

The Marissa plant will increase production to meet growing demand, which is supported by our recent partnership with HELM as the North America distributor for SUL4R-PLUS. The new location has created 25 new jobs in St. Clair County and will increase production volume by 100,000 tons of product annually. This additional capacity will improve over 2 million crop acres.
